Parsha Vayakhel Half Shekel

Materials and Instructions:

Purchase a few packs of Permanent markers, Paper plates,and a roll of aluminum foil. Have glue and pens available.Printout the Half Shekel page and photostat 2 per child If possible photostat the page a little bigger if your machine has such options..Cut out circle from printout and cut out 2 circles from the aluminum foil and 1 circle from the middle of a paper plate or piece of oaktag; all circles should be the same size. Sandwich the paper circle between the foil circles and glue (see picture). Place cut out circle from printout and place over the foil "sandwhich" and with pen trace over the design and words of the printout. The imprint should show up on the foil, don't press too hard! Have the children trace over the imprints on the foil with permanant marker, then trace with the printout circle on the other side of the "coin" and then again with the makers as before. Now your class will have a great learning prop!
